Promoting health lifestyles for children and community!

 

Oklahoma County SHINE has joined forces with Susan Bergen to install community gardens on local elementary school grounds. Bergen Enterprises supplies the rich soil, seeds and plants. SHINE crews install the gardens. Periodically they water and weed to get them off to a good start. Students and neighborhood residents are invited to embrace each garden as their own to tend and harvest for themselves.

The gardens are full of tomatoes, peppers, okra, kale, cucumbers, radishes, onions, strawberries and more!
